Tulips

I am hoping to distract everyone from my red Lasik eyes with a bright red lip... although I don't know if matching your lipstick to your bruised eyeballs is a good idea or not...
Cowl - crocheted by me
T-shirt - Target
Skirt - thrifted Liz Claiborne
Red coral bracelet - TJ Maxx
Tarn bracelet - thrifted little boys belt
Tights - Target
Shoes - Miss Me

Belt bracelet and skirt detail:

The other awesome part of my Lasik recovery are the glasses. Or goggles. Or whatever. I'm supposed to wear them at night for two weeks so I don't rub my eyes and thus detatch my cornea flap while I'm sleeping. They are incredibly sexy and make me look like I love raquetball. They are also fun to take photos with and send to my friend Matt.
I went to the U of MN for college, our mascot is Goldy Gopher... generally if one of my friends requests I "make the face" it is that one. My pride and joy.

When I was a kid, my sister called me "Rubberface" because I have a very expressive face, and was always making crazy faces. Want to see me cross my left eye totally, while my right stays still, then vice-versa? I can do it. My face has a mind of it's own. I remember my mom being like, "Stop rolling your eyes!" and "Don't make that face at me!" and I had no idea what she was talking about... my face does what it wants. It totally betrays me. If I think you are an idiot, I cannot hide it. My face sells me out and shows my true emotions....

They also gave me these super cool sunglasses to wear over them on the way home from surgery, and you know what cool sunglasses mean? Cool. Duck. Face.
You're welcome.

I bet you're the only person ALIVE who could wear those lasik goggles to work and make 'em look cool. And yes, that's a challenge. But I'll understand if you don't take me up on it. ;)

WOW this post is full of WIN. perhaps 'facial expression wednesday' could be a new feature on your blog?? the glasses are hilarious, and i love that you're having fun with them. i also cannot tell any redness in your eyes at all! i guess the pretty bright lip is working, as well as the bright skirt. i love the colors.

Oh good idea Sal. Maybe trim them with fancy zebra stripe duct tape or something?

Just commenting to say your expression photos were funny. I can't cross my eyes but my kids seem to think I make funny faces throughout the day... which is not good when they start laughing at the mad mama face.

That shade of red looks really gorgeous on you! And so do your Lasik protective glasses, but that's probably because of the funny faces. I would definitely need those, I have a nasty habit of rubbing my eyes in my sleep.

With every post of yours I read, I love you a little more. You're adorable. Even in utilitarian lasik goggles.

I wish I had an answer for you - this is a Frankenstein hybrid of like 4 different lipsticks... the drugstore by my house was going out of business so I just bought a ton of colors to play with! Good luck!

hehe!! Those are some expressions! Good for you for getting Lasik. I wish I could take that plunge, but it's not in the cards right now. I hope it all gets better soon. And your outfit is super darling. I love those shoes and the red skirt is very pretty!
