Skidding into Monday

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!" — Hunter S. Thompson

That is how I feel today. After a 10 hour trip from Seoul to LA, a 5 hour layover in LA, a 3 hour flight to MPLS, and the 15 hour time difference... I am unsure of WHEN I am... I do know I have only slept about 4 hours in the last 48 though, so here's hoping I can make it through work today and then craaaaash. Totally worth it, though, my trip was amazing and so interesting! I'll do a post or two to wrap up my time in Seoul in a day or two. For now, I am just going to do a simple outfit post, since I'm so lost in time.
Orange necklace - Kohl's, years ago
Yellow "necklace" - flea market in Seoul
Cardigan - Target
Belt - thrifted
Navy polka dotted skirt - vintage via www.pangs.etsy.com
Sandals - Frye via Gilt Group

I don't think I'm supposed to be wearing these oversized Buddhist prayer beads as a necklace, but I also don't need it to keep track of my chanting, so I figure this works? Sorry, not trying to disparage your religion, lady at the flea market, but I like me some big accessories. Bye kids, I'll catch up on all your lovely blogs soon I hope! I feel so out of the loop!

You look amazing, and not at all as tired as you must really to be! Nice outfits can do that, it's always hiding my hangover :)

Ok, so this is super random. I googled "pictures of Justin Morneau" (because I think he's pretty hot) and I lo and behold I come across the blog of a former sorority sister. Weird. So anyway, just wanted to say hi! I read a few posts-sounds like you're doing well.

Anyway, hi...that's pretty much it :)

Adore the color combo here and the beads - my husband is a Buddhist and he leaves his beads around a statue of Buddha's neck most of the time... don't think he'd be offended at how you're wearing them!

yahoo welcome back!! i have been eagerly following along with your journey but not commenting as voraciously as i'd like (thank you, grading).
p.s. i love this outfit today and i think those beads are the perfect touch, especially because they are a teensy bit sacrilegious!

hope your Korean adventure ended well! Loved your posts while you were away, definitely sparked some memories for me of my time there.

The necklace combo is genius (you're wearing them with cheerful respect, I don't think that'll offend - not any more than people who wear rosaries do anyway)

This is staggeringly awesome. The big beads are superb, and the whole thing has a wonderful air of big city chic.

When I would come back from Asia I would have the worst jet lag so I know what you're going through. On the other hand those necklaces are SO fabulous. It really makes a statement.
