eyelet and tweed and "If you can't say something nice... don't say nothing at all."

Ok, for the first time since I started taking outfit photos... I am not on my stairs! The siding, windows, and doors of my condo are finally being replaced today. My house is filled with construction dudes as of 7:20am... I figured they wouldn't arrive till 8:00, so I didn't have time to take a picture at home. So here's me at work (the nurse's office of a K-12 public arts school)
Blouse - thrifted
Vest - thrifted
Pins - mostly thrifted, the turqouise gun is from etsy
Belt - thrifted
Watch - Michael Kors
Jeans - Old Navy
Shoes - Frye
I am a big fan of the "too many pins" look... although I guess I've only done it once before and that was with a million boy/girl scout pins. I am considering wearing this, or a version of it,  to my t-shirt sale at the museum tomorrow... I still don't know what to wear! And I know I'll be up half the night heat-setting shirts, but the boy wants to come over and help, so that will make it faster and more fun!

Ooh, and P.S. I got my first nasty Anonymous commenter today! Hooray! A blogger's rite of passage and it took me nearly two years to get one! A random Anonymous posted on an outfit from last summer to inform me that "I'm sorry but all your costumes are awful!" Yeah, awfully awesome! Later hater! Thumper is disappointed in you.

Puh-lease. Your students must love you, and I'm sure all the 12th graders have crushes on you. You are the archetypal cool teacher!

I don't think I've commented here yet but just wanted to say that I did, in fact, laugh out loud at your response to that nasty comment. LATER HATER INDEED! :)

A rite of passage indeed! I love your "costumes," every last one.

Have fun at the Walker!

2yrs! before a hate comment? That just means there is nothing to hate about you. I got mine the second month LOL!

Just love your pin collection. And thanks for the close up. I always check and see if I have any similar. And I do! Those two leaf/feather pins that are crossed, I have a single one also.

I love your response to the hater! I do think there's a place for constructive criticism, but nasties who hide behind anonymity can kiss my ass.

Those shoes with this outfit are awesome! I, for one, love your costumes!

Your outfits are always awesome and the hater is an edjit.
I work in a public school too... never tried the nurse's office for photos though! Good luck at the event. Love the vest and pins.

Wow, lady, totally loving this look! It would be great for the sale too! You make me want to leave work and run to the nearest thrift store and buy up their pins!! I always buy bigger brooches but love the collection of smaller ones!

Yes, you've arrived! It sounds like this annonymous commenter is not a native speaker, maybe French or German? The use costume to meet suits, if I recall correctly.
Your pins and those cuffed pants are great. Way to brighten your students' Friday.

This is perfect! I am going going on this "tweed bike ride" in a couple weeks and you are wearing exactly what I envision- tweedy vest and lacy blouse. Thanks for the inspiration!

BTW- I love your safari dress in army green, and how you paired it. I just might dye mine if I don't get more wear out of it.

My friends and I are doing the Tweed Ride too I think! I'm super excited!

Ha! Tell 'em, Thumper!

I love that you're snuggling up to the eye exam chart. A little photo field trip.

I love lots of pins! Flare up! You pull this off so well.

This is adorable. And that anonymous comment and your response made me laugh. It's just unavoidable - unhappy internet trolls abound.

lol and as for the hater... i love how they bothered to basically check every outfit back to go knows when? clearly they were at least entertained, and therefore your blog has served its purpose :D

I'm sorry but all your costumes are...awesome! Ha-ha!

BTW, who calls them "costumes"?

Booo to anonymous haters :( I haven't had that rite of passage yet, but I'm sadly sure it'll happen someday. Bah. AT LEAST LEAVE YOUR NAME, COWARD.

I LOVE this look. Somehow it doesn't look like too many pins at all. The golden wreath ones are maybe my faves! And what a great vest.

So my world kind of falls apart seeing you off your staircase, but I LOVE this outfit, and I love how it seems to match your workspace perfectly. Your flair is wonderful, too!
