than this:
Um, but can we talk about that Moschino trench that Daryl Hannah wears in Kill Bill for a minute?!?! I will give you my future first-born child in exchange for that trench. Also, do we think I can pull off an eyepatch? (kidding?) Hmm, I may have to try a DIY with a thrifted trench coat to attempt to replicate the awesomeness of that coat... it haunts me.
Anyway, here is the trompe l'oeil dress in question:
I was so excited to see that asos.com started carrying Rosalind Keep's Oasis dresses! Plus the British pound is the weakest it's been in years!
Cardigan - Daisy Fuentes (Kohl's clearance)
Dress - Oasis via asos.com
Belt - thrifted
Tights - Target
Shoes - MIA
Wahoo! I have the day off tomorrow because of parent/teacher conferences! Now that I am done with the 10 custom shirts for my friend's woodworking business:
I'll have plenty of time tomorrow to throw up (ha!) stuff on my etsy! And print more t-shirts for when I sell them at the Walker Art Center next month! And my skirt for One Pearl Button's sew-along is turning out great so far! It's a Burda Style Marie! And the pattern is free! and easy!
Huzzah! Currently, my life rules!

Oooh, that would be awesome if you did a DIY version of that trench! I bet it'd be awesome. Just like the dress you're wearing is awesome =)
Uh, that dress is amazing! And I am really considering trying that pattern now! I hope yours turns out well, the design is really cute and clever. I feel the sewing bug after reading about everyone's projects. I think a trip to SR Harris might be in order...
You could definitely do some sort of DIY with the trench. I love the dress you have on - it kicks ass!
Also, the shirts you are did are great. Love the logo.
I've had a photo of your dress in my inspiration book for months - LOVE it. Plus, the trench is amazing, as is Daryl Hannah in Kill Bill.
That dress kicks buh-utt!!! Love the logo you designed--are you an art teacher?
No, I work in the nurse's office at a K-12 public arts school... I didn't design their logo, I just screenprinted it on t-shirts for them!
hahaha, you're definitely more phone #1 than photo #2, but what exactly is wrong with a bikini t-shirt???
That dress is awesome. I love it. Looks great. Definately closer to photo one than photo two.

WOW. Remind me to call on you if I ever need a bunch of awesome t-shirts!
And, as has already been pointed out, that is a KILLER dress.
I just saw Kill Bill Vol 1 a few months ago for the first time (yes, I am a few years behind) and I definitely took notice of that trench straight-away! Your dress is so cute today and that skirt you're making is just GORGEOUS!
the dress is great! and yeah, that trench is amazing.
it's so funny you wanted to be named Penny after the Rescuers! I wanted to be named ariel I think ;]
those shirts look great! I took a screen printing class which was really awesome, but I don't have the set-up or space to do it...
Yay for your life totally ruling right now! I think that dress would make anyone's life rule a little more.
I LOVE this dress! Looks great on you---lovely with the black belt/tights and the grey cardigan. Also love the tees you made.
Hope you enjoy your day off! :)
hahah - definitely more Daryl Hannah!! That dress is cute!
Your skirt looks great! I still have to sew the zipper into mine, I hope I don't screw it up!
Chic on the Cheap
omg that dress RULES!
p.s. do you think some of your life ruling could rub off on me right now??

there's 'the fabulous sugar doll blogger award'waiting for you at my place...

Wow, that's the best dress I've seen in a LONG time. I, um, need one just like it. Or maybe just that one. That exact one.
I might be emailing you about Minnesota -- I'm real curious now!
GREAT dress! I've been considering purchasing one. This months instyle (I think?) has a 20% off anything on asos.com coupon. With the weak pound and the coupon - I may own one sooner than later.
Love your blog!
