Mr. Leather... the contest

Yes, folks, I am off to the Mr. Leather contest at a local gay bar... oddly I had MANY appropriate outfits to choose from. I'm pretty excited, it should be super fun! Besides, I always feel better about myself after a night out at the gay bar. For some reason gay men seem to flock to me like the salmon of Capistrano. I guess it's because I always dress up and I'm sassy. Anyhoodle, I'll be back Monday (though I suspect NOT with photos since they probably won't be appropriate.)
Necklace - Claire's (from when I was Little Orphan Annie for Halloween years ago)
T-shirt - Target
Skirt - thrifted vintage
Tights - TJ Maxx
Clogs - Zigi Soho

Side shot so you can see the very important gold chains:
Sometimes I worry that some of high school students from my work will find this blog and then I will have to stop swearing and blathering on about gay bars... luckily that has not happened yet!  Also, I am aware that no one will notice or care what I wear because they will all be looking at the beefy men parading around in leather harnesses...

I love your leather skirt and am totally jealous that get to go to a Mr. Leather contest. My evening wasn't nearly as much fun!

Great outfit! I hope you had fun. I've been looking out for a leather skirt in the secondhand shops, but no luck yet.

That's a pretty cool outfit, and a pretty cool story to go with it :) I have been in a similar situation, I was teaching college students and always worried that some of them would read my (first and former) blog and not take me seriously any more :) and my boyfriend, who is a high school teacher, is really really careful about not doing anything in public that could, if witnessed by his students, undermine his authority... tough work, that.

Cheers,
poet

PS: I started reading your blog only recently, so I haven't commented a lot, but so far I really like what I've seen :) (and I hope this doesn't come across as stalker-ish, it's not supposed to sound that way)

Great skirt. Hope you had a fun night.
I teach college, and I don't really share that much about my life in my blog. I worry sometimes, but how would they find my little blog with a modest following unless they were already into small, uncommercial, off-the-beaten track style blogs? I imagine that they would like me more than anything. (Maybe this will change).

That is so perfect. And I love that you can wear it to the gay bar, a fancy restaurant, work even!

Would you wear this skirt anywhere besides this event at the gay bar. I recently bought one and after I shorten it, I'm going to wear it, but I'm a little stumped about styling it for work.
