The Max

No, not the Saved by the Bell hangout, maxi skirts TO THE MAX!

Maxi Skirt/Dress | Everybody, Everywear
Oxford - Target
Vest - thrifted
Skirt - thrifted handmade vintage
Sandals - Jessica Simpson

Ridiculously tiny little boys fringed suede vest:
I'm glad the choice this month was maxi skirts because I've had this one sitting in my sewing pile for a couple months. It was handmade and a bunch of the stitching was coming out. It was an easy fix, but this challenge motivated me to fix it in time for spring!

Some previous wearings of maxi skirts or maxi dresses (click on them to go to my flickr if you want the outfit details):

5-18-09 Big and bright and tall6-1-09 I'm getting too old for this
8-31-09 Flow7-7-09 Like a picnic blanket
4-30-10 Yes, Virginia, I even thrift umbrellas5-26-10 My skirt enjoys pattern mixing
1-21-09 That one crazy lady6-7-10 The last Monday

I'm only 5'3" and maxis get a big thumbs up from this girl! Conventional wisdom be damned!

disclaimer...i just took a vicadin for a horrible neck pain. i blame the "cherry on top" comment on the pills.

That is a fantastic skirt, and your Saved by the Bell reference made me laugh.

I love your maxidress collection! You look really great in long skirts and I hope you get to wear more of them this spring. :D I'm 5 feet flat and I avoided maxidresses/skirts for the longest time, thinking it would make me look short. Well the fashion magazines lie because some of them actually make me look taller than I really am.

ha! Amazing way to wear that vest, I have to say my fave look is the one with the olive skirt and button up. =)

Wow, you have a great collection, but I am really admiring the Jessica Simpson shoes, although, I'd fall off them!

Wowza! It's lke you're wearing one of the coziest quilts ever! That has to mean that it was a good day!!

So umm...the fabric in that skirt is the EXACT same as in one of my bedspread "quilts" when I was a kid. My mom probably bought it in the late 60s/early 70s. Just so ya know when it might be from!

It looks better as a skirt. Nicely done. :)
