New decade, old dress

I'm sure you're all aware that New Year's Eve is coming up and there is so much pressure! I don't know what to wear! I dug through my dresses and pulled out quite a few options... so HELP ME! What should I wear? I am going to a "Fancy Pants Cocktail Party" at my friends Matt and Jim's house... It's indoors so I'm not too worried about being warm...

Option #1
Dress - vintage (1950s) from Junk Bonanza

Option #2 (I had to show the back on this one!)
 Dress - thrifted vintage (1980s)

Options #3 and #4
 Good vs. evil

Options #5 and #6
Dress - Hayden Harnett                       Dress - vintage (1950s) from antique store

So these are kinda rough ideas, I'm not totally sure on the tights and jewelry and etc so feel free to throw your two cents in the comments on ideas or things to change!

EDIT: Thanks for voting! Dress #2 narrowly won (by only 6 votes) over dress #5!

I love #5, but #2 is just stellar on you!

I'm loving both #3 and #5... I just can't help but love that super flouncy skirt!

I love #4 and then #3. I love the skirts. I would go with a dark shoe and a fun necklace.

I voted for 3, but honestly 3 - 5 are all awesome.

I like 4, and also 2.

I voted four but I also like 1 and 2.

I am a sucker for Hayden Harnett, but I actually really like the good vs. evil looks as well. Maybe you could save them for a Halloween party and go as the Black Swan ballerina, changing halfway through the night? And with the HH dress, I'd go with some shoulder duster earrings. Enjoy!

Eek, it's a draw for me between 2 and 5.

I'd go for #2. It's not that over-rated, it looks elegant too.

Like many of the other comments here, I like the look of nos. 2 and 5, though may I suggest belting number 5 with a sequin cummerbund or some kind of sparkly belt? I think it would really show off your figure.

I love #5 - it's so sleek with enough sparkle to make it NYE worthy!

I picked 4 as my vote. I love the dark dress against the lighter tights. But I also loved the last dress, that colour is beautiful against your hair!

Have fun at your party!

I think 2 is the most flattering on you as well as the most formal, but maybe with some colored tights to make it more fun.

What is the most comfortable?

#2 and #5 are just fine, but #2 wins because of silhouette. I may be wrong, but I feel like the Hayden Harnett dress could be a bit smaller, to fit better. Otherwise it's perfect new year eve dress!

2 or 5, but with a big deep-coloured jewel somewhere!

I love the sparkliness of #5 (always good for New Years parties), and #2 is awesome, though I might choose colored tights to go with it too.

There all very cute but #2 looks like a New Years Dress to me ~Happy New Year ~Heather :)

I said 4 because you said fancy cocktail party. Black is always a good bet for cocktail, but the full, fun skirt makes it fancy and different. And the neckline lets a piece of jewelry shine.
They are all great - but I would probably not choose 6 for this event. It just doesn't fit the bill.

well well well...looks like i'm the loser of the voting population. i'm loving #6--roll up the cardigan's sleeves a little, throw on a pearl necklace (or 3), and lighten up the legs/shoes. a little vintage, a little modern, a lot classy.
that being said, you're going to look beautiful no matter what--great options!
