With the ridiculous three outfit posting yesterday, I totally forgot to post that I'm doing Sal's Summer Black-Out this week. Which is easy for me, since I don't wear much black, especially in the summer. I am not as gung-ho as Sal is though, I can't commit to it for the whole summer!
Not gonna lie, I totally wore cowboy boots today to hide the approx. 4,000 mosquito bites on my ankles....
Dress - thrifted and shortened

This was sooooooo a mid-1990s stay-at-home-mom kinda dress... I hacked a ton of length off the bottom because I liked it's little collar and pleating. I think I'm gonna shorten it a few more inches but guh, I don't feel like blind-hemming it again. BUT! Only two more days of school and I'll have plenty of time for sewing projects. Hooray summer!

I just adore the rich color of that dress and the neckline details! And I am SO jealous that you have summer off!!!
okay i totally love this dress!!! if it's a stay-at-home mom dress, sign me up!! it's awesome. esp with the cowboy boots.
and i am totally mosquito-bitten as well. guess we're just sweeter than the rest of them...
Blind hemming? You're my seamstress hero! I have failed that project too many times now.
Love the dress and especially the boots. Is the dress sort of a chunky knit? The texture is really cool.
And sorry about the multiple mosquito bites!
That dress is cute, and I think it would look nice a little shorter. I am jealous of school employees with summers off!
Love the cowboy boots with the red dress!!
Congrats on two more days of work! I'm jealous, my preschool operates year round do no summers off for me.
Is blind hemming when you look the other way, hack off a few inches with some scissors and hope for the best? That's how I roll.
I love this dress to death - it's marvelous with the cowgirl boots!
Red is a fabulous color on you!
School is out for us today---YES! Love the boots with the dress.
Love the dress! What a fantastic color!
Also, I join you in mosquito-bite-filled summers...
Apparently they like my pale white skin >.<
Blind hems. Ugh. Doing them on the machine consistantly makes me think it would be easier to do by hand. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
The dress is cute shortened though, it's amazing what a hemline can do for a dress.
