Long day of tending bar

These long bartending shifts are exhausting. I wasn't built to pretty much stand in one place all day long. I went nuts cleaning to pass the time and cut my wrist on an old piece of glass that was left in the bottom of a shelf. Ouch! Anyway, I am feeling lazy, thus the lazy outfit. Whateves.

I have tomorrow off (aside from The Interview and my client.) Have I mentioned that before? On Thursday nights I have a disabled client whom I have worked with for 6+ years. He is adorable and so much fun. Anyway, then I also have Friday off to go wedding shopping with my friend Megan who is in town from Boston! Yeah! I am going to be in her wedding next summer (and they're getting married on a Caribbean cruise! Whoo-pee!) Anyway, I must go convince Ryan to watch Project Runway, since I don't have cable...

Good news on the job front, I have an interview on Thursday morning to be the assistant nurse at a school in Minneapolis. It's an awesome school and I hope I get to work there. It's so nice and close! Anyway, is this too much for an interview? I try to go to interviews as myself (that means no taking out the nose ring, no covering the ants on the foot tattoo, etc) so I don't have to ask questions later on what is okay and what is considered inappropriate. However, I also don't want to scare them off, I am a very responsible and caring person and don't want my "modern" appearance to scare off older hirers. You know what I mean? Really, I just wanted a reason to wear these new shoes, so I built the outfit around them (I don't think I would really wear the shoes in this matchy-matchy way, but for an interview, I think it works.) P.S. I have listened to the War on Drugs song Taking the Farm about 200 times in the last two weeks. Go listen to it, on repeat...

these boots were made for... roping cows?

I love me some cowboy boots... I found a navy blue pair at a thrift store like two years ago with great colorful stitching and they SO did not fit... I wore them anyway. It was a painful year. Then I found a great size eight powder blue pair on ebay for ten bucks! Sorry for the shoddy image quality in the second one, it's from this winter when my camera was on the fritz, so I took it with the built in camera on my MacBook.

Anyway, I just bought another pair at a thrift store, again $10, but much tackier this time...

Really, I agree with you... they are ugly. But, some day when I am feeling lazy or just plain late, I can throw on a boring outfit and let the boots do some talking.

P.S. I am so blogging at work right now. Good thing I can multitask and can still make cocktails while doing this...
