I carried a watermelon.

Shirt - vintage, thrifted
Watch - Michael Kors
Capri jeans - Old Navy
Shoes - Aerosoles

I just realized this outfit is kinda '60s by way of the '80s... like Dirty Dancing! See... I just can't get so scandalous with tying up the top at work...

Great, now I want to watch it, I also need to remind one of my gay boyfriends that we have yet to perfect "the lift" in the lake, which we actually attempted a few times last year.  My dad always says there are three movies he memorized during my childhood due to my older sister and I - Grease, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Dirty Dancing. Funny how it seems like all little girls love dancing flicks.

  1. ha! my dad often says the same thing- he HATES grease & grease 2 as well as DDancing and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun because of the fact that we watched them constantly as kids.

  3. You look great, don't know if I can ever watch Dirty Dancing again since Patrick Swayze died. There is always hope though I just watched Heath Ledger for the first time since he passed away.

Grease is the word. I know every single song and I do not lip synch, and my voice is terrible. Good way to clear the house of teenagers.

  4. I love this look! Pastel plaid is so summery.

To this day I can remember every word and dance sequence to Grease and Dirty Dancing. Oh how I love those movies!

Have you seen the Iron Man vs. Dirty Dancing video on Youtube?

  6. I love "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and Grease of course! Love the capris...are they petite size?
I keep trying to find a pair but since I'm short, they keep looking like flood pants.

  7. They aren't a petite size - but I do think they are supposed to be a "just below the knee" style and mine hit mid-calf... they are from like 4 years ago unfortunately, but I imagine they have similar ones this year...

  8. i never really got into the dancing movies...but i could be the exception as i was halfway across the world (specifically the Philippines) during the eighties. my friends would always give me a hard time for missing the eighties...but really...is that my fault? ps: that outfit is so cute. what i love about your blog is that i feel like i could wear the outfits you put together, and thus your blog is one of my inspirations for putting together outfits. :)

  9. Love the look and love Dirty Dancing. I watched in On Demand not that long ago and proceeded to dance around the kitchen while making dinner on my tippy-toes.

  11. I think I actually like dancing movies now more than when I was younger, my older brother made me feel to embarased to watch them, so Goonies became the overplayed flick.

...now I want to go watch dirty dancing... Maybe it's on netflix instant watch...
